Delegations to Turkey

Dialogue Society organises periodic delegations to Turkey specifically tailored according to the participating group with a view of enhancing intercultural interaction and inter-institutional partnership. The trips are extremely useful in exploring the culture, lifestyle, civil society dynamics and politics of different countries and discovering the application of innovative ideas for achieving shared goals and overcoming common problems. To date, Dialogue Society has organised these trips to different parts of Turkey with a more specific goal of introducing delegates to the underlying dynamics of Anatolian Muslimness (or ‘Turkish Islam’) which is in tune with democracy, diversity, dialogue, human rights and proactive citizenship; put differently, finding in Turkey that which is often described in academia as ‘Euro Islam’.

In the coming months, trips will be organised to other regions and countries including Central Asia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Northern Iraq and Africa.
