Dialogue Society North organised a seminar titled ' Drug Awareness' by Jim Starky at Leslie Downs Theatre, Ferens Building, Hull University on 29 October 2008. Jim Starky is currently employed by Compass as an outreach drug worker. Compass is a drug treatment agency that provides free and confidential information and support services for individuals experiencing problems with drug use.

Jim spoke about the drug treatment agency and the support services provided for individuals experiencing problems with drugs. Part of the seminar was conducted as a workshop inviting attendees to discuss why people are drawn to drugs and what services could be provided to help prevent and deter people from taking drugs.
