Media and Religion: Understanding the Rules of Engagement

On Wednesday 21st April, Revd John Carter (MA) gave a seminar titled Media and Religion: Understanding the Rules of Engagement, which covered topics related to how issues concerning faith are covered by the visual and press media in Britain. As a former BBC journalist who is currently a church press officer and broadcaster, Revd John Carter talked on topics such as media views on religious institutions, different theories on the effects of media from McLuhan to Neil Postman, different approaches of media institutions and the visual and press media regarding presenting views on religion and faith.
