Whirling Dervishes in Manchester
Whirling Dervishes from Konya (Turkey) performed their traditional Mevlevi Order Sufi ceremony in Manchester, Newcastle, Halifax and York on 16 November 2005. The Mevlevi order has been established on the teachings of Mevlana Jalaladdeen Rumi in late 13th century. As a poet, Rumi has enjoyed enormous popularity in the UK recently.
