Noah's Pudding Celebration at Bristol Unitarians

Sun, 11 Feb 2007 00:00 in Community Engagement

As one of grass roots activities of Dialogue Society, the "Noah's Pudding" celebrates the common heritage of Judaism, Christianity and Islam.

In the Muslim prophetic tradition, the day Moses (peace be upon him) and his community were saved from the Pharaoh's army, and the day Noah's (peace be upon him) ark was saved from the flood is celebrated with fasting and in modern times with the sharing of a piece of desert known as Noah's pudding.

In every year, thousands of cups of Noah's pudding were shared by the volunteer families of DS and their neighbours and members of various faith-based organizations in the Southern UK.

Dialogue Society offered asure (Noah's Pudding) at Bristol Unitarians on February 2007. During the event, the guests had a chance to share their knowledge about Prophet Noah and Noah's Pudding. We would like to extend our thanks to Turkish ladies for cooking of this delicious dessert.
