Maria Way is Senior Lecturer in Media Theory at the School of Media, Arts and Design, of the University of Westminster.

Maria Way's recent publications include a variety of book chapters and academic articles on the topic of media and religion. She is completing a PhD on Popes on Film: The Medium and the Message at London South Bank University.

She is also a Visiting Professor at the Istituto del Verbo Incarnato, Segni, Italy. She is currently working on a research project at Universit della Santa Croce, Rome, on the Poetics of Christianity
