    Director of the Centre for Public Relations

    Professor Anne Gregory is Director of the Centre for Public Relations and based in South Lodge at the University's Headingley Campus.

    Originally a broadcast journalist, Anne then spent 10 years in public relations practice at senior levels, including award winning work for one of the UK's largest Building Societies before transferring into consultancy. She was a Founding Director of Weber Shadwick's UK northern office and worked on a broad range of public relations and marketing projects.

    Anne was responsible for creating the largest academic department of public relations in Europe. As Director of the Centre of Public Relations, she leads research, consultancy and training projects as well as teaching at all levels. Clients include the UK Government Cabinet Office, Department of Health, Home Office, Department of Work and Pensions and Nokia. She was also President of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) in 2004, leading the Institute in its Charter initiative. Anne is an internationally recognized academic and teaches and speaks around the world. Her work is translated into several languages and used across the globe.

    Anne's main role as Pro-Vice-Chancellor is to develop broad ranging partnerships especially in the Calderdale and north Yorkshire area, focusing on Craven. She also has an overseas remit, working in Australasia, Asia and Europe on links with academic and other bodies to enhance the student experience and to facilitate staff and research partnership opportunities. She also has a broad role in representing the university both in the UK and overseas.
