We are thrilled to share with you the highlights of our first week's activities, embodying the spirit of Ramadan across various cities.

As we navigate through the blessed month of Ramadan, the Dialogue Society has been at the forefront of fostering unity, understanding, and peace through a series of memorable iftar gatherings. We are thrilled to share with you the highlights of our first week’s activities, embodying the spirit of Ramadan across various cities.

Oxford University Iftar: A Night of Reflection and Unity

Our Oxford branch, in partnership with Mansfield College of the University of Oxford and Oxford Brookes University, hosted the annual dialogue iftar on the theme of Peace & Unity. The evening was graced with the presence of distinguished guests, including Mrs. Moira Darlington, Deputy Lord-Lieutenant of Oxfordshire; Prof Irene Tracey, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Oxford; Cllr Liz Leffman, Leader of Oxfordshire County Council; and Helen Mountfield KC, Principal of Mansfield College. The event was a testament to the power of dialogue in connecting diverse communities.

Expanding Horizons: 13 Diverse Iftars Across the UK

Beyond Oxford, we’ve spread the message of togetherness through 13 other dialogue iftars, reaching from the historic Llandaff Cathedral in Cardiff to the vibrant community of Birmingham, and the embracing environment of a Sikh Gurdwara in Northampton. Each gathering, be it at Leicester University or within the communities of Leicester, Kingston, Blyth, North London, and more, was a unique celebration of communal harmony.
