Dialogue Iftar Dinners 2026: Building Community Trust

As Ramadan arrives, many Muslims across the UK will fast from dawn to sunset—a month shaped by gratitude, self-discipline, generosity, and care for others. Each evening, the fast is broken with iftar: a meal that offers relief, and something just as important—connection.

Building Community Trust - Christmas 2025 Impact Report

At the Dialogue Society, we believe that when people meet, communities become kinder—and everyday life becomes more liveable. That is why our Ramadan gatherings are always open to everyone: people of all faiths and none, neighbours and newcomers, students and civic leaders, friends, and first-time guests.

This year’s theme: Building Community Trust

When life feels uncertain—financially, socially, and politically, it is often trust that weakens first. People retreat into their own circles, and misunderstanding grows. Ramadan offers a different rhythm: one that invites openness, generosity, and presence. This year, we are using that spirit to create practical spaces where conversation replaces assumption, and shared meals help strangers become neighbours.

Our biggest campaign since our founding: 75 Dialogue Iftars

The Dialogue Iftars are the biggest campaign we have launched since the Dialogue Society’s foundation. This year we will host 75 Dialogue Iftars across the UK—bringing thousands of people together in spaces where trust can be practised face-to-face.

Our venues reflect the kind of society we want to build: one where trust is nurtured everywhere people gather—from historic venues and universities, to cathedrals, community spaces, and schools.

This year’s programme includes events in and with:

  • Blenheim Palace
  • Universities including Oxford, Birmingham, Leicester, Reading, City and more
  • Cathedrals including Rochester, Winchester, Hull, Sheffield, Newcastle
  • Secondary and primary schools across the country

If you would like to join a Dialogue Iftar, please email info@dialoguesociety.org. Spaces are limited and many venues fill quickly.

Go further with IftarMe: personal connections matter

Alongside the Dialogue Iftars, we warmly invite you to join IftarMe—a community-led initiative that helps people experience an iftar in a Muslim family home. It is a simple, powerful way to turn “community” into something you can feel.

You can take part in two ways:

  • Join as a host family
  • Visit a Muslim family for iftar as a guest

We need your support more than ever

The need for trust-building work is growing—while the pressures facing communities (and charities) are also growing. To keep our work consistent, accessible, and nationwide, we especially need regular donors who can help create sustainable income.

Join The Dialogue Circle

Choose your tier and help keep dialogue going – steadily, warmly, and for the long term. When you join, you are not just donating – you are becoming part of the Dialogue Society family that keeps the table open.

If you can, please consider joining the Dialogue Circle (our regular giving community). Your monthly support helps keep the table open and dialogue ongoing.

And if you’re able to make a one-off or monthly gift, please donate. Your donation directly supports our Ramadan programme and year-round community trust-building efforts.

Join us this Ramadan

Come and share a table. Say hello to someone you do not know yet. Leave with one more name, one more story, and a little more trust.
