Abstract

Dialogue Society is pleased to host leader of council Of Brighton&Hove at its premises on the 4th of March at 11am. The purpose of the meeting is to strengthen connections between the local government and local people such as Brighton&Hove residents, students and businesses operating in the city. The meeting will enable participants to air any concerns or views they have about local, or indeed national, policies which affects them. Please come along and give us your views on the local issues that concern you and your community. The leader of Council is keen to listen and learn and respond to questions and concerns you have to help solve problems that affect you.

Biography of Jason Kitcat

Jason Kitcat is the Leader of Brighton & Hove City Council, the UK’s first Green-led principal authority. He has been a Green city councillor in Brighton for 6 years. Before becoming Leader in 2012 he was Lead member for Finance. He sits on the Coast 2 Capital LEP and the LGA Economy & Transport boards as well as the Key Cities Leadership group. He chairs the Greater Brighton partnership and the Shoreham Harbour area board.Jason was until February 2012 the general manager of the Open Knowledge Foundation. He was previously Head of Technology at Netmums, a leading parenting site. He has founded or co-founded a number of technology related companies. He holds a BSc(Hons) from the University of Warwick in Computer Science & Management Science and MSc Technology & Innovation Management from the University of Sussex. He holds advisory positions with the New Local Government Network and the Open Rights Group.
