Where: Greater London Assembly, City Hall, The Queen’s Walk, London SE1 2AA
Date: Wednesday, 23rd May 2018
Time: 19:30

From the host:

During the Islamic month of Ramadan, Muslims fast between dawn and dusk; breaking the fast just after sunset in a joyful meal called Iftar, with family and friends. In the spirit of Ramadan and friendship, we would like to share this happy meal with as many people as possible to foster intercultural understanding and better inter-community relations. We hope everyone takes the opportunity throughout this year and as well as during this holy month to continue to engage in dialogue; promote trust and confidence between communities; encourage reconciliation and speak out against violence and injustice. We pray for unity, peace, understanding and compassion between all people and all communities. We would be honoured to host you as a special guest at our forthcoming Iftar dinner and to break fast together along with other distinguished guests at the iconic City Hall venue overlooking the Thames.

Program Schedule:

  • 7:30pm - Arrivals
  • 8:00pm - Welcome, guest speeches and presentations
  • 8:55pm - Iftar (fast-breaking) dinner
  • 9:45pm - Closing remarks and thanks
