Biography of Gemma Oaten

Gemma Oaten is a British actress born in Hull. She played Rachel Breckle in Emmerdale from 2011 to 2014. She has also starred in Doctors and All Star Family Fortunes, and is an accomplished Mezzo-Soprano singer.

Before her acting career took off she worked in MacDonald’s. She battled anorexia for eleven years and last year opened a new eating disorder centre which her parents helped to set up in Hull.

About the Success School

The Dialogue Society Success School is a four-week programme of seminars intended to help inspire, encourage and equip young people to aspire to and work towards success. Participants will hear the inspirational stories of a range of successful professionals in a friendly and interactive environment (3 sessions). The School will also include a workshop with professional performance coach Wendy Gore, focusing on building confidence and motivation.

Regular attendees will receive certificates.

Who’s it For?

The School is for young people of 16-21 years of age in and around Hull. We hope to welcome participants from a range of cultural and ethnic backgrounds.

Participants will largely be recruited from the student body of Wyke College.
