Date: Saturday, 11 March 2023

Dialogue Society Leicester Branch is organising a panel discussion at the United Nations NGO Commission on the Status of Women, CSW67 forum. Our session is entitled “Empowering Women and Girls: Leicester Case.” We are honoured to invite you to join our event and contribute during the Q&A session with our valuable panellists.

For England, Wales, and Northern Ireland, Leicester is a relatively high-crime city, with the most common crimes in Leicester being violence and sexual offences. Offences of this nature disproportionately impact women and girls; our panel aims to facilitate a dialogue on how to best empower the women and girls of Leicester in the face of such crimes. We will have a diverse panel and an open question-and-answer session at the end.

Speakers

  • Dr Emma Sleath, Professor of Criminology, University of Leicester; Leader of the "Empower Leicester" Project on Violence against Women and Girls
