Where: Barclay’s Bank HQ, Docklands
The Diversity Team together with the Multicultural Network is organising a series of ‘Lunch and Learn’ sessions on world religions. Its first session was a talk on Islam which took place at the Presentation Suite 1 at its Headquarters in Canary Wharf.
The main talk was given by Ozcan Keles, Director of the Dialogue Society. This was followed by a short introduction to Sharia banking products by a member of the Barclays Capital emerging markets team.
The main talk focused on the fundamental belief system in Islam, its answer to the age old problem of the purpose of existence and the role of the underlying bedrock of compassion and dialogue in this religion.
Approximately a hundred employees, of varying seniority of the Barclays Bank were in attendance. Questions and answers were taken at the end of the session.
This talk is available on DVD.
