The Dialogue Society North East Branch proudly launched its Ramadan journey in Blyth, hosting the 3rd Annual Blyth Community Dialogue Iftar and Diversity Dinner in partnership with North East Diversity, Education and Solidarity (NEDES), Buffalo Community Centre, and Blyth Madina Masjid.
The event welcomed over 100 participants from Blyth and across Northumberland, bringing together community members, faith leaders, local residents, and partners for an evening dedicated to peace, unity, and shared understanding.
Funded through a microgrant from the Heart of Blyth Project and generously supported by Blyth Town Council, the evening marked the third consecutive year of celebrating Iftar with the wider Blyth community—demonstrating the strength and continuity of local collaboration.
A Celebration of Diversity and Togetherness
The programme featured inspiring guest speakers, captivating art presentations, soulful live music, and a rich selection of traditional foods, reflecting the cultural diversity that makes Blyth a vibrant and inclusive community. Each element of the evening was thoughtfully designed to encourage dialogue, foster connection, and celebrate shared values across cultures and faiths.
The atmosphere was one of warmth and unity, as participants gathered not only to break fast, but also to build bridges, strengthen relationships, and affirm their commitment to living together in harmony.
Community-Led, Community-Driven
We extend our sincere gratitude to NEDES, Buffalo Community Centre, and Blyth Madina Masjid for their continued partnership, and to Heart of Blyth and Blyth Town Council for recognising the importance of this initiative and supporting it through community funding.
As highlighted by the Heart of Blyth Residents Panel, events like this demonstrate that when communities come together, we are stronger together.
Moving Forward Together
The 3rd Annual Blyth Community Dialogue Iftar and Diversity Dinner stood as a powerful reminder that Blyth is one big, inclusive family. Through shared experiences, open dialogue, and mutual respect, the event reaffirmed our collective commitment to peace, unity, and understanding.
The Dialogue Society North East Branch remains dedicated to creating spaces where communities can truly meet, learn from one another, and continue building a more connected and harmonious future—for Blyth and beyond.
