The 4th Annual Gateshead Community Dialogue Iftar Dinner was a truly memorable evening, bringing together community members, civic leaders, and public services in the spirit of Ramadan, unity, and mutual understanding. Organised by the Dialogue Society North East Branch, the event highlighted the strength of community partnerships and the power of dialogue in building trust and social cohesion.
We were honoured to welcome Chief Constable Vanessa Jardine and representatives from Northumbria Police, whose continued support over the past three years has been instrumental in strengthening community dialogue and collaboration. The evening also featured inspiring contributions from Mayor of Gateshead Kath McCartney and Mark Ferguson MP all of whom reflected on shared values, inclusion, and the importance of working together across communities.
A shared iftar meal, prepared and served by dedicated volunteers, created a warm and welcoming space for meaningful conversation and connection. The atmosphere throughout the evening reflected the true spirit of Ramadan—compassion, generosity, and unity.
We extend our sincere thanks to our speakers, guests, volunteers, and partners whose commitment and enthusiasm made this event such a success. The 4th Annual Gateshead Community Dialogue Iftar Dinner was a powerful reminder of how dialogue and collaboration can bring communities closer together.
