On 12 March, the Dialogue Society Oxford, in partnership with The Oxford Academy, hosted its 4th Community Iftar, bringing together a wide and diverse cross-section of the local community in the spirit of Ramadan.

We were honoured to welcome distinguished guests including the Lord Mayor of Oxford, Louise Upton, Leader of Oxford City Council Susan Brown, Chair of Oxfordshire County Council Mark Lygo, Deputy Lieutenant of Oxfordshire Moira Darlington, and Anneliese Dodds MP, alongside teachers, students, parents, and representatives from local organisations.

The evening began with the traditional breaking of the fast with dates and water, followed by a delicious meal. Guests enjoyed a vibrant and engaging programme, including a beautiful sand art performance, uplifting songs by The Oxford Academy choir, and an interactive Kahoot quiz that brought energy and joy to the evening.

The warm and welcoming atmosphere created a meaningful space for connection, dialogue, and mutual understanding among attendees from diverse backgrounds.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to The Oxford Academy for their generous hospitality, and to all our volunteers and supporters whose dedication made this memorable evening possible.

Inspired by the spirit of Ramadan, we remain committed to strengthening community bonds, fostering inclusivity, and building trust for a more connected and harmonious society.
