Our Bolton Branch successfully organised an outstanding multicultural and multi-faith iftar event themed “Building Community Trust”, generously hosted by the University of Greater Manchester.
The event welcomed approximately 150 guests from diverse backgrounds, bringing together members of the local community in a spirit of unity and shared values. Distinguished guest speakers included the Bishop of Salford, John Arnold, Bolton Vicar Hannah Lane, and Andrew Roberts, Chair of the University’s Board, all of whom contributed thoughtful reflections on community cohesion, dialogue, and mutual respect.
Before the iftar time, representatives of the Christian, Hindu, and Muslim faiths offered prayers, reflecting the inclusive and respectful nature of the gathering.
The evening featured a rich and engaging programme, including a captivating sand art performance, a traditional drum show, and interactive entertainment such as Kahoot quizzes and a raffle, all of which added to the warm and lively atmosphere.
The programme concluded with an evening reflection, sharing messages of friendship, peace, and mutual understanding.
This large-scale iftar event stood as a powerful example of cohesion, peace, and the culture of living together harmoniously. It has undoubtedly earned its place as a memorable and meaningful occasion in Bolton’s community life.
Participants overwhelmingly expressed their happiness and appreciation for the opportunity to be part of such a welcoming, peaceful, and multicultural gathering.
