Dialogue Society Bexley Branch marked International Women’s Day on 8 March by hosting a special iftar dinner that brought together women from across the local community. The event created a welcoming and reflective environment where participants could celebrate the significance of the day while sharing the experience of breaking the fast during the month of Ramadan.

The evening offered an opportunity for women of different cultural and faith backgrounds to come together, engage in meaningful conversations, and build new connections. Through the simple yet powerful act of sharing a meal, attendees were able to exchange perspectives, reflect on the role of women in society, and strengthen a sense of community spirit.

International Women’s Day serves as a global moment to recognise and appreciate the achievements and contributions of women in all aspects of life. In this spirit, the gathering highlighted the importance of creating inclusive spaces where women feel valued, heard, and connected. The iftar dinner also encouraged dialogue and understanding by bringing together individuals who may not otherwise have the opportunity to meet and interact.

The event reflected Dialogue Society’s commitment to fostering social cohesion and promoting intercultural dialogue within local communities. By organising initiatives that encourage interaction and friendship, the organisation continues to support opportunities for people from diverse backgrounds to come together, share experiences, and build lasting relationships.

The evening concluded with warm conversations and a shared appreciation for the importance of community, demonstrating how gatherings centred on dialogue and hospitality can strengthen understanding and solidarity among women in the local area.
