The Dialogue Society in Bolton, hosted by Great Lever Connected, held another inspiring interfaith workshop that brought together diverse communities to explore how faith can contribute to peace, understanding, and social harmony.
The event welcomed distinguished speakers including Dr Hetan AjWani from the Bolton Hindu Forum, Rabbi Warren Elf representing the Jewish Committee of the Manchester Faith Network, Revd Rodger Petch from St. Paul’s Church, and Imam Shakir Manzoor from the Muslim community. Each speaker shared meaningful reflections on how their faith traditions encourage compassion, cooperation, and peaceful coexistence.
Supported by the Northern Friends Peace Board and the Bolton Interfaith Council, the workshop continued with group discussions where participants worked through scenario-based conflicts. By drawing on shared values across different faiths, groups identified constructive, collaborative solutions.
Participants also engaged in creative activities, designing concepts for a Peace Garden, a Multifaith Festival, and a Community Center intended to serve as inclusive spaces for learning, connection, and celebration. These designs showcased how faith communities can come together to imagine and build hopeful, shared futures.
The workshop concluded in a warm and welcoming atmosphere, accompanied by delicious refreshments and homemade treats generously provided by local volunteers. The shared meal not only nourished bodies but also continued the spirit of unity and heartfelt connection that defined the day.
We offer our sincere thanks to everyone who attended, contributed, and supported this meaningful gathering. Special appreciation goes to our partner charities and to the many individuals who shared their stories, ideas, and positive energy.
We look forward to hosting more events that bring communities together through kindness, culture, and collaboration.
