The Dialogue Society recently hosted a meaningful Iftar gathering at Camden Town Hall, bringing together diverse members of the community for an evening of reflection, conversation, and connection. The event fostered a spirit of dialogue and understanding, strengthening the bonds between people of different backgrounds.

Community Iftar Dinner - Camden Town Hall

We were honoured to welcome distinguished guests, including Cllr Samata Khatoon, Anne Clarke (London Assembly Member for Barnet and Camden), Kerim Balcı (Dean of Education at the Respect Graduate School), Phil Champain (Director of the Faith & Belief Forum), Professor Mike Hardy, OBE (Coventry University), and Cardinal Michael Fitzgerald. Each shared their insights on the significance of dialogue and community cohesion, adding depth to the evening’s discussions.

The night was further enriched by artistic and interactive sessions. A mesmerizing Kanun recital set a serene and reflective mood, while a lively Kahoot session added an element of fun and friendly competition. Guests also had the opportunity to visit the calligraphy table, where they received personalised bookmarks beautifully inscribed with their names—a unique keepsake from the evening.

This Iftar was more than just a shared meal—it was a celebration of unity, understanding, and the power of dialogue in building stronger communities. We look forward to continuing these meaningful conversations in the future.
