Dialogue Society Manchester brought together people from diverse backgrounds for a Community Picnic at Debdale Park, creating a relaxed and welcoming space for neighbours, families and volunteers to connect.
Food was at the heart of the afternoon, with participants sharing homemade dishes representing different cultures and traditions. Around the table, conversations flowed, new friendships were formed, and people had the opportunity to discover something new about one another.
The afternoon continued with a walk by the lake, cups of tea, family-friendly games and competitions, before finishing with an energetic game of volleyball that brought different generations together.
More than simply a day in the park, the picnic reflected Dialogue Society’s commitment to building stronger and more connected communities. By creating informal opportunities for people to meet across cultural and social boundaries, activities like this can help reduce isolation, strengthen a sense of belonging and build lasting relationships within local neighbourhoods.
