The fifth Cultural Awareness Day (CAD) delivered by the Dialogue Society North East Branch took place at Wallsend St. Peter’s C of E Primary School on 15 February 2023, bringing together students, parents, and partners for a joyful celebration of diversity and multiculturalism.
Organised in partnership with Wallsend St. Peter’s C of E Primary School, NEDES, and Time To Help, the day engaged the entire school community in an immersive cultural experience. Students explored different cultures through live music, creative art workshops, and the sharing of traditional foods, creating a welcoming space for learning, enjoyment, and connection. Parents also joined the celebration, strengthening community bonds and shared understanding.
Beyond cultural celebration, the event encouraged active citizenship and compassion. Students proudly led a fundraising initiative in support of Time To Help’s Emergency Appeal, learning how collective action can make a meaningful difference to those in need.
This Cultural Awareness Day reflected Dialogue Society’s ongoing commitment to promoting diversity, inclusion, and multicultural values through engaging, educational, and community-led activities.
