Dialogue Society Liverpool Branch proudly participated in the University of Liverpool Refugee Hub Launch and the University of Sanctuary Award Presentation, held on 26th of September 2025. The event brought together students, academics, community organisations, and local stakeholders to celebrate the creation of a collaborative space for refugees and wider communities, focusing on integration, dialogue, and social cohesion.
During the event, Dialogue Society shared insights on the importance of integration and dialogue in building community trust, highlighting how inclusive engagement can strengthen relationships across diverse groups. The morning included keynote presentations, project showcases from local initiatives such as Asylum Link and Bridge 2, and opportunities for discussion, networking, and collaboration across overlapping areas of social experience, including homelessness, employment, belonging, and social justice.
The Refugee Hub is designed as a dynamic, evolving space for networking, shared learning, and community-led initiatives, with a focus on amplifying voices from refugee and marginalised communities. Dialogue Society was honoured to contribute to this conversation, reflecting its ongoing commitment to interfaith and intercultural dialogue, community cohesion, and solidarity across Liverpool.
The event also celebrated the University of Sanctuary Award, recognising the University’s dedication to creating inclusive and supportive spaces for refugee students. Dialogue Society’s involvement underscored the strong alignment of values between the organisation and the University, highlighting opportunities for future collaboration on projects that foster solidarity, understanding, and creative community engagement.
