Dialogue Society North East Branch was delighted to be featured on BBC Radio Newcastle as part of the BBC Make a Difference Awards, highlighting our work and impact across the North East.
Ahead of the awards ceremony, Tugay Yalcin, Newcastle Branch Director, joined Micha Laing and Matt Bailey live on BBC Radio Newcastle to share the story of Dialogue Society, our community-led initiatives, and our nomination for the BBC Make a Difference Award. The interview provided an opportunity to discuss the importance of dialogue, volunteering, and partnership working in strengthening local communities.
Following the ceremony, Dialogue Society North East Branch was proud to be announced as a finalist in the BBC Radio Newcastle Make a Difference Awards. While we did not take home the top prize, receiving a finalist trophy was a significant recognition of the collective efforts of our organisation and, in particular, our 150 dedicated volunteers who support our work across the region.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the BBC Radio Newcastle team, our North East team, our partners, and our supporters for their continued encouragement and collaboration.
At Dialogue Society, we remain committed to our mission of connecting people and communities, promoting understanding, and creating positive change — both locally and nationally.
