The Dialogue Society Oxford, in partnership with Blenheim Palace and in collaboration with The Oxford Foundation and the Thames Valley Civic, Community, Faith Leaders Group, hosted its 1st Dialogue Iftar, centred on the theme of Building Community Trust.
The event brought together a highly diverse group of attendees, including academics, community leaders, and representatives from various organisations. Distinguished guests included Vice Chancellor of Oxford Brookes University Helen Laville, Lord Lieutenant Marjorie Glasgow, Imam Monawar Hussain, Leader of Oxfordshire County Council Liz Leffman, Chair of Oxford City Council Mark Lygo, Leader of Oxford City Council Susan Brown, Lord Mayor of Oxford Louise Upton, President of Oxford Jewish Congregation John Dunstan, Bishop of Oxford Steven Croft, Callum Miller, MP for Bicester and Woodstock, TVP Chief Constable Jason Hogg, High Sheriff of Oxfordshire John May, and other prominent figures from the local community.
The evening began with the traditional breaking of the fast with dates and water, followed by a delicious meal provided by Blenheim Palace. Guests enjoyed a marbling art performance, an interactive Mentimeter session, and a lively Kahoot quiz, creating a vibrant and engaging atmosphere in this historic setting.
The warm and welcoming environment fostered meaningful connections, encouraging dialogue, mutual understanding, and trust among attendees from diverse backgrounds.
