Gateshead Community Corner 4 – Macramé & Calligraphy Art Workshop

The fourth Gateshead Community Corner (C²) offered a calm and creative space for neighbours to slow down, connect, and create together at Bensham Grove Community Centre.

This February gathering invited people of all ages and skill levels to explore macramé and calligraphy, guided by a relaxed, hands-on approach that encouraged creativity without pressure. Alongside the art activities, participants shared warm conversations over coffee and tea, making the space feel welcoming and inclusive.

Shaped by those who attended, the session reflected the spirit of Community Corner — a place where art becomes a starting point for connection, friendships grow naturally, and everyone is welcome just as they are.

The fourth Community Corner continued to strengthen Gateshead’s growing network of neighbours coming together through creativity, dialogue, and shared moments.
