Gateshead Community Corner 5 – Short Film Discussion Night

The fifth Gateshead Community Corner (C²) brought the community together for an inspiring Short Movie Discussion Night at Bensham Grove Community Centre, creating space for reflection, dialogue, and shared understanding.

Participants watched three powerful short films — The Stone, Homelessness, and The Other Pair — each exploring meaningful social themes. The screening of The Other Pair, inspired by the story of Mahatma Gandhi, resonated deeply with attendees, highlighting how small acts of kindness can create lasting change.

Following the films, open and thoughtful conversations unfolded, allowing participants to reflect on the issues raised and connect them to their own lives and local communities. The evening embodied the Community Corner ethos: using art and storytelling as tools for dialogue, empathy, and connection.

This fifth gathering reaffirmed Community Corner as a welcoming space where people come together not only to watch and listen, but to share perspectives, learn from one another, and build stronger community bonds.
