Revd Andii Bowsher

Coordinator, Faith Advisory and Anglican Chaplain, Northumbria University

Andii co-ordinates spiritual care at Northumbria University, is a parent and grandparent, ordained within the Church of England, volunteers with a national Christian environmental charity and works occasionally to help train priest and lay leaders in the church. Andii also accompanies and supports people individually in their spiritual growth and development.

We were delighted to take part as a partner in a vibrant Interfaith Dialogue Event hosted by the Northumbria University Chaplaincy Department. The event brought together people of different faiths and backgrounds in a warm and welcoming atmosphere filled with meaningful conversations and shared experiences.

Participants enjoyed delicious food while engaging in thoughtful dialogue, setting the tone for an inclusive and reflective gathering. A special highlight was the exploration of the story of Noah’s Pudding, which beautifully illustrated the value and strength found in diversity. This narrative served as a powerful reminder of how different cultures, beliefs, and traditions contribute to a richer, more compassionate society.

The central theme of the event focused on environmental issues from different faith perspectives. Through interactive table discussions, participants examined global environmental challenges and reflected on how various faith traditions encourage stewardship, responsibility, and care for the planet.

The event was further enriched by speeches from our Regional Manager and Andii Bowsher, Spiritual Care Co-ordinator and Anglican Chaplain at Northumbria University. Their contributions emphasized the importance of interfaith collaboration, dialogue, and collective action in addressing both social and environmental concerns.

We extend our sincere thanks to Andii Bowsher and the Northumbria University Chaplaincy Department for organizing such a meaningful event and for including us as partners. Gatherings like this continue to strengthen interfaith understanding, celebrate diversity, and inspire shared commitment toward a more sustainable and harmonious world.
