On 20 November 2024, as part of Interfaith Week 2024, the Dialogue Society North East Branch attended the Gateshead Food Summit, hosted by Gateshead Council at the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art.

The summit brought together over 170 community leaders, campaigners, and residents from across Gateshead and beyond to explore the theme of good food, highlighting key challenges and opportunities for positive food system change. The event also showcased the work of the Gateshead Food Partnership (GFP), established earlier in the year to support collaboration among organisations working towards food system transformation.

During the event, the Dialogue Society shared Noah’s Pudding and its story as part of its Interfaith Week activities, offering a symbolic contribution that highlighted unity, cultural diversity, and shared values through food. This participation provided an opportunity to engage with a wide range of stakeholders and to demonstrate how food can act as a meaningful bridge between communities and faiths.

The Dialogue Society was pleased to take part in this important conversation and to contribute an interfaith perspective within a wider community-led initiative focused on inclusion, sustainability, and collaboration.
