Whitehall Road Methodist Church

As part of Interfaith Week 2024, the Dialogue Society North East Branch was honoured to attend the Sunday Service at Whitehall Road Methodist Church in Gateshead, strengthening bonds of friendship and understanding across faith communities.

During the service, the team shared the story of Noah’s Pudding — a traditional dessert symbolising hope, gratitude, and unity through diversity. The sharing of the pudding offered a meaningful way to reflect on shared values, highlighting how different cultures and faiths can come together around compassion, generosity, and mutual respect.

The visit provided an opportunity for open dialogue and warm interaction with the congregation, reinforcing the importance of interfaith engagement at a local community level. Sincere thanks are extended to Revd Brigitta Steele for her warm welcome, as well as to the dedicated volunteers whose efforts made this visit both impactful and memorable.

This event contributed to the wider Interfaith Week programme by promoting understanding, connection, and peaceful coexistence, using a simple but powerful symbol to celebrate the richness of diversity within our communities.
