Dr Muzammil Quraishi

Senior Lecturer in Criminology & Criminal Justice, University of Salford

This talk will briefly outline the history of how Muslim populations have become the subject of a discourse which identifies them as deviant, criminal and a risk to western democracies. Specific examples from criminological research will further contextualise the role Islamophobic and racist constructions play in marginalising Muslims in contemporary British society.
