Dialogue Society delivered an engaging Life of a Chickpea session for 90 students at Wellfield Middle School, bringing together storytelling, interfaith dialogue and interactive learning.
Guest speakers Sue and Ken Finn from the Newcastle Bahá’í Community and Les Boobis MD FRCS from UHC Newcastle (United Hebrew Congregation) shared their experiences and perspectives with students. Two young volunteers also brought the story of Noah’s Pudding to life through an engaging storytelling session and supported activities throughout the event.
Students had the opportunity to visit the faith and community stalls, speak directly with the guest representatives and ask questions. Through the story of Noah’s Pudding and its diverse ingredients, the session explored themes of identity, diversity, mutual respect, inclusion and living together harmoniously.
The event provided a memorable opportunity for students to learn about different faiths and communities while developing curiosity, empathy and a greater appreciation of diversity.
