Dialogue Society Liverpool Branch, in partnership with Summit Education, organised a Community Christmas Dinner in Sefton, Liverpool, bringing together local residents, civic representatives, and community leaders to celebrate the festive season under the theme “Rekindling the Community Spirit.”
The event was honoured by the presence of Peter Dowd MP, Assistant Chief Constable Jenny Sims of Merseyside Police, and Church Ward Councillor Paul Cummins, who contributed to the evening by offering reflections on community cohesion, shared responsibility, and the importance of connection during the festive period.
Guests enjoyed a warm and inclusive programme while sharing traditional multicultural cuisine, alongside art workshops featuring marbling, live music performances, interactive games, and a raffle. These activities created a welcoming environment that encouraged dialogue, cultural exchange, and meaningful interaction among participants.
The Sefton Christmas Dinner demonstrated the positive impact of community-led initiatives in strengthening social bonds and fostering mutual understanding. By bringing together individuals from diverse backgrounds around a shared table, the event successfully reinforced the values of togetherness, dialogue, and community spirit.
