Newcastle Community Corner 1 – Brings People Together Through Sunday Brunch

Open to Everyone
Free to Attend

St. James Benwell Church

Dialogue Society North East Branch was delighted to host the first Newcastle Community Corner Sunday Brunch in partnership with Benwell & Scotswood Team Parish, creating a welcoming space for people from all backgrounds to come together through friendship, conversation and hospitality.

Held at St James’ Church in Benwell, the event welcomed members of the local community for a relaxed Sunday gathering featuring delicious food, meaningful conversations and the opportunity to build new friendships. The warm and inclusive atmosphere reflected the shared commitment of the partner organisations to strengthening community ties and promoting social cohesion.

The Community Corner initiative aims to create regular opportunities for neighbours to connect, share experiences and celebrate the diversity of Newcastle. Events like these demonstrate how simple acts of hospitality and dialogue can foster understanding, reduce isolation and build stronger, more resilient communities.

Dialogue Society extends its sincere thanks to Benwell & Scotswood Team Parish, Building Community Trust, NEDES, and everyone who attended and contributed to making the inaugural Newcastle Community Corner such a memorable success.

We look forward to welcoming even more members of the community to future Community Corner gatherings as we continue building bridges of friendship, dialogue and mutual understanding across Newcastle.

This event is part of "Newcastle Community Corner" panel series.
