In December 2021, Dialogue Society North East hosted its first in-person event after the Covid-19 pandemic, celebrating the Christmas season at the Comfrey Project. The gathering brought the community together once again to share traditional homemade Turkish food, enjoy live Anatolian folk music, and take part in creative activities in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Guests enjoyed a rich variety of traditional homemade Turkish food, shared in a spirit of generosity and hospitality. The evening was accompanied by live Anatolian folk music, creating a warm and joyful atmosphere throughout the venue. A range of interactive activities added to the festive spirit, including a prize draw featuring a unique painting created live during the event.
The Christmas gathering provided a welcoming space for heartfelt conversations, bringing together people who had missed meeting in person as well as those connecting for the first time. The room was filled with warmth, laughter, and a shared sense of renewal.
Under the theme “Rekindling the Community Spirit,” this first post-pandemic Christmas event aimed to strengthen community ties, celebrate unity, and promote peace and solidarity during a time of reflection and hope. The evening successfully captured the true spirit of the season and marked a hopeful step forward in rebuilding connections and continuing Dialogue Society’s mission of dialogue and togetherness.
