In Interfaith Week 2022, the Dialogue Society North East Branch hosted a special Noah’s Pudding (Ashura) event in South Shields, bringing together around 100 local community members for a day of connection and celebration. The event was organised in partnership with North East Diversity Education and Solidarity (NEDES) and Living Water Church.

Volunteers prepared and shared Noah’s Pudding, a traditional dish symbolising unity and diversity, alongside a programme filled with music, conversation, and cultural exchange. The gathering created a warm and welcoming atmosphere where people of different faiths and backgrounds could come together, share stories, and build meaningful relationships.

The event beautifully reflected the spirit of community—highlighting that connection is nurtured through shared food, music, and genuine human warmth. It was a memorable occasion that strengthened interfaith dialogue and reinforced the importance of unity and understanding within the South Shields community.
