As part of Interfaith Week 2022, the Dialogue Society North East Branch volunteers, hosted a meaningful community event at St Andrew’s Church House.
Volunteers prepared and served Noah’s Pudding (Ashura), often regarded as one of the world’s oldest desserts, symbolising unity through its rich mixture of ingredients. The event brought people together from different faiths and backgrounds, offering a welcoming space to share food, stories, and experiences.
The programme also included an engaging presentation on the “Life of a Chickpea,” highlighting themes of sustainability, culture, and shared human values, alongside an introduction to the Dialogue Society’s work in building bridges across communities.
This special gathering reflected the true spirit of Interfaith Week—celebrating diversity, encouraging dialogue, and strengthening community connections in Ashington through shared traditions and meaningful conversation.
