Forge Valley School

The Sheffield Branch hosted a special Dialogue Iftar Dinner in collaboration with Forge Valley School, bringing together 80 participants including students, teachers, and members of the school community. The event created a welcoming and reflective environment where young people and educators could come together to share the spirit of Ramadan through dialogue, connection, and mutual understanding.

The evening featured an address by Mr Watson, Head of School, whose reflections highlighted the importance of inclusivity, respect, and community engagement within educational settings. The programme also included a variety of interactive and engaging activities such as games, a Kahoot quiz, video presentations, and student-focused discussions—encouraging active participation and fostering a sense of belonging among attendees.

Through shared experiences and meaningful conversations, the Iftar Dinner provided a valuable platform for students and educators to connect beyond the classroom, strengthening relationships and promoting a culture of openness and respect.

Impact

The Forge Valley School Iftar played a key role in building bridges among young people from diverse backgrounds, encouraging empathy, dialogue, and intercultural awareness. By creating a safe and inclusive space for interaction, the event helped nurture confidence, strengthen peer relationships, and promote positive engagement within the school community. It also reinforced the importance of partnership between educational institutions and community organisations in supporting diversity and social cohesion—laying the groundwork for continued collaboration and understanding in the future.
