The South Tyneside Community Corner 1 – Community Breakfast and New Year Celebration was successfully held on 25 January at Marsden Community Centre, South Shields, bringing together local residents and families in a warm and welcoming environment.
The event offered a shared community breakfast, creative art activities, opportunities to meet neighbours, and family-friendly entertainment, including a raffle. These activities created an inclusive space that encouraged participation across all ages and backgrounds.
Community Corner 1 played an important role in strengthening local connections at the start of the year. Through shared meals, creative engagement, and informal conversation, the event promoted community cohesion, social inclusion, and a sense of belonging. It also provided an accessible platform for residents to connect, build relationships, and celebrate community spirit together.
The success of Community Corner 1 demonstrated the value of inclusive, family-focused initiatives in fostering dialogue, collaboration, and positive community engagement across South Tyneside.
