The Dialogue Society’s Milton Keynes branch hosted an engaging workshop titled The Life of a Chickpea at Whitehouse Primary School. Pupils explored the role of the chickpea in diverse dishes from around the world, leading to meaningful discussions about culture, community, and identity. Through this culinary lens, they examined social aspects tied to food, including the importance of British values such as mutual respect, tolerance, and cultural understanding. The workshop encouraged curiosity, fostered intercultural dialogue, and highlighted how everyday ingredients can connect people across traditions and beliefs.
