The Liverpool Branch proudly hosted its Annual Dialogue Iftar Dinner at South Wirral High School Main Hall, bringing together 160 guests from across Merseyside. The evening welcomed a diverse audience of faith leaders, community representatives, civic figures, academics, and charity partners—creating a vibrant space for dialogue, reflection, and connection.
Distinguished speakers included Sue Higginson OBE DL, Mark Wiggins, Paul Murphy, Michelle McCreary, and Tugay Yalcin, whose contributions highlighted the importance of collaboration, trust, and civic unity. The event was delivered in partnership with Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service, further strengthening ties between communities and public services.
The programme offered a rich cultural experience, featuring table games, live music, traditional Ebru marbling art, Hacivat & Karagöz Anatolian shadow theatre, a raffle, and an interactive Kahoot quiz. These activities fostered meaningful engagement and shared enjoyment among attendees of all backgrounds.
Supported by a dedicated team of 30 volunteers, the evening was not only a celebration of Ramadan but also a powerful demonstration of community cohesion. The event embodied the theme “Building Community Trust” by creating opportunities for open dialogue, mutual understanding, and lasting relationships across diverse groups.
