The Manchester Branch hosted the Manchester Community Iftar Dinner at the Rethink Rebuilt Society (Syrian Community Centre), welcoming over 130 guests from diverse faiths, cultures, and professional backgrounds. Delivered in partnership with Summit Education and MACFEST, the event was centred on the theme “Building Community Trust.”
The evening brought together faith leaders, civic representatives, and members of the wider community, creating a meaningful platform for dialogue, reflection, and connection. A highlight of the programme was the interfaith prayer, led by Jewish, Christian, and Muslim representatives, symbolising unity and shared values across traditions. The event also featured a poetry performance, table discussions, interactive games, a Kahoot quiz, and reflective feedback from each table—encouraging active participation and thoughtful engagement among attendees.
Through a carefully designed programme blending cultural expression with dialogue, the Iftar created an inclusive and welcoming environment where individuals could share perspectives, build relationships, and celebrate diversity. The evening concluded with a collective reflection and a family photo, capturing the strong sense of community and togetherness.
Impact
The Manchester Community Iftar Dinner significantly contributed to strengthening interfaith and intercultural relationships within the city. By facilitating open conversations and shared experiences, it helped build trust, reduce social barriers, and promote mutual understanding among participants.
