The Manchester Branch of the Dialogue Society hosted a vibrant Campus Iftar Dinner at University of Manchester, in partnership with Diversity Dialogues and Catholic Society Manchester. Bringing together around 100 attendees, the event welcomed students, university staff, and members of the wider community for an evening centred on interfaith dialogue and intercultural understanding.
Designed as an Interfaith and Intercultural Iftar Dinner, the event created a welcoming space for individuals from diverse religious and cultural backgrounds to come together, share a meal, and engage in meaningful conversations. The gathering fostered mutual respect, curiosity, and connection—highlighting the shared values that unite communities across differences.
Through open dialogue and a spirit of inclusivity, participants had the opportunity to build new relationships, exchange perspectives, and deepen their understanding of one another. The collaboration between student societies and community organisations further strengthened the sense of partnership and collective purpose.
Impact
The Campus Iftar played a significant role in building bridges across faiths and cultures within the university environment. It encouraged dialogue, reduced barriers, and promoted a culture of inclusion and respect among young people and community members. By creating a platform for connection and shared experiences, the event contributed to stronger campus cohesion and demonstrated the power of interfaith engagement in fostering a more united and understanding society.
