In May 2010, British citizens will cast a nationwide vote to elect new Members of the Parliament (MP’s). Considering some of the challenges that the British government has recently faced due to the global credit crunch, upcoming elections will be influential to understand UK citizens’ attitudes towards the policies of current government as well as the new approaches developed and presented by parties opponent. In this seminar, Karen Hamilton (PPC for Perry Barr) will confer on the policies of Liberal Democrats and answer the questions of attendees who are mostly first-time voters.
Biography of Karen Hamilton
Karen was born in Birmingham and has lived in North Birmingham for most of her life. She was educated locally at Brooklyn College, Great Barr and graduated from University of Central England in Birmingham.
Karen is currently a Birmingham City councillor and sits on the Leisure and Education Overview and Scrutiny committees. She also works as an accountant.
Her hobbies include cyclying and photography and she is also involved with a local athletics club where she has assisted in coaching field events. She has a particular interest in education, environmental and community issues.
