Dialogue Society 5 Birch Road, SHEFFIELD, S9 3XL

In the light of recent events, much focus has been placed on the threat posed by extremists who attempt to use the Islamic faith to justify violence against innocent civilians, yet society also faces another challenge in the form of far-right extremism. While the two may seem to be worlds apart, both have arisen as a result of fear, alienation, and ultimately hatred. In this event, Yousef Dar will offer his perspective on the rise of violent extremism in the UK and what can be done to prevent the spread of its ideology, regardless of whether it hides behind the façade of religion or nationalism.
