Dialogue Society Leicester branch held an event titled ‘Mental Health and Immigrants: What needs to be done for their integration into the society?’ with Prof Philip Baker. He talked about the phases of immigration, the problems that immigrants are facing and the current mechanisms in place to deal with these issues.

In discussion part, guests agreed that one of the primary barriers on integration is language. It is also discussed that managing expectations about immigrated country, economic problems, cultural differences and interpersonal communication (especially family of the individual) play important roles on integration.
