Abstract

You are cordially invited to join us on the evening of the Ashura day.

The day of Ashura is a very important day for the Abrahamic religions. According to narrations, Adam and Eve were created on this day, Prophet Abraham was saved from the fire, Prophet Jacob and Prophet Joseph were reunited on this day, Prophet Moses saved his people from Pharaoh's tyranny and Prophet Noah's ark landed in a safe place on the day of Ashura.

We are inviting you to join us in honouring the Ashura day with an old Anatolian tradition; sharing of the Noah's pudding(also referred to as ashura). It is believed that when the Great Flood began to recede, Prophet Noah gathered all the food that remained on the Ark and used it to cook a delicious pudding.

We would be delighted to welcome you and your family to our Ashura evening to share food, conversation and friendship.
