Seminar ‘History of Dialogue and Community Cohesion in Leeds: A Muslim Perspective

On Monday 11 January, as part of the seminar series ‘History of Dialogue and Community Cohesion in Leeds’, Dr Hassan Al-Katib gave a seminar titled ‘History of Dialogue and Community Cohesion in Leeds: A Muslim Perspective’, presenting his insights about the Muslim community in Leeds in the context of his work experience as a campus imam for Leeds Universities and as a member of Leeds Faiths Forum. Dr Hassan Al-Katib talked about his experiences in the aftermath of the traumatic events of 7/7 and how the Muslim community joined together with other faith and cultural communities in Leeds to show solidarity against all kinds of aggression.

Dr Al-Katib also talked about their joint activities with representatives of other faith groups at Leeds Faiths Forum. Finally in the 10 minute question & answer session, Dr Hassan Al-Katib answered questions about his activities in the Muslim community and about his work at Leeds Faiths Forum.
