Building Resilience and Understanding: A Panel Discussions on Countering Extremism
We recently hosted two panel discussions on extremism at De Montfort University (DMU) and University of Birmingham providing a platform for critical dialogue on its root causes, societal impacts, and community-based responses. The panel featured leading experts who offered valuable insights into preventing radicalisation, fostering resilience, and promoting mutual understanding across diverse groups. This event aimed to equip students and community members with practical knowledge and strategies to counter extremism, contributing to the development of a more inclusive and cohesive society.
Interfaith Week Highlights
Celebrating Interfaith Week, the Dialogue Society hosted Noah’s Pudding events in various branches including Oxford, Sheffield and more. Together, we shared stories, traditions, and a spirit of unity.
The Leicester Branch hosted a meaningful gathering with Shama Women’s Centre, focusing on the vital role of women in interfaith dialogue. This event brought together women from diverse communities and backgrounds, fostering an inclusive space to share experiences, perspectives, and insights.
The Sheffield Branch had the privilege of sharing Noah’s Pudding at Sheffield Cathedral. The warm hospitality extended by the Cathedral staff created a welcoming atmosphere that set the tone for a memorable evening.
Christmas Challenge – Match Funding
We are thrilled to announce in participating in this year’s Christmas Challenge 2025 run by the Big Give with support from our Champion Fund, The Reed Foundation with our “Life of a Chickpea Workshops” If you can donate, it will be doubled by the Big Give.
The Life of a Chickpea at Whitehall Primary School
Our volunteer, Dr Firat Batmaz, recently led a specialised training session for teachers at Whitehall Primary School, focusing on effectively teaching British values to primary students.
This month, Dialogue Society and our dedicated storytellers continues to actively engage with students across various schools through our ‘Life of a Chickpea‘ initiative.
London Dangoor Awards Winner
Congratulations to volunteers in our South London Branches as Dialogue Society has been awarded London Dangoor Awards for Outstanding Services to Faith and Belief Communities in Greater London. with Life of a Chickpea workshops.
Mitzvah Day Celebration
Sheffield Dialogue recently joined the Sevenhills Jewish Community to celebrate Mitzvah Day in their warm and welcoming venue. The day commenced with refreshments and engaging icebreaker activities, setting the tone for a collaborative and festive atmosphere.
Rumi Evening
Our hearts are still resonating from the beauty and wisdom during last week’s Rumi Evening in Birmingham! Surrounded by an incredible community, we immersed in the teachings of Rumi through poetry, whirling dervishes, and enchanting music.
